I was just playing ROV with my friends, Pon and Non, and almost got so carried away that I forgot to record this. If the match had dragged on any longer, I really might have. My hands actually feel heavy and strained from playing so much ROV today — morning, noon, afternoon, just tapping nonstop. (laughs)
My dad had to go to the hospital at three in the morning. He caught the flu from my grandma. The day before yesterday, he drove to pick her up when she wasn't feeling well, and she was coughing in the car the entire ride. My dad wasn't really thinking much of it at the time and didn't put on a mask. She tested positive for Influenza A. He was taking care of her and ended up catching it too. By last night, he was coughing so hard he had to go in. My mom and brother went to visit him first thing in the morning while I was still asleep. Grandma seems to be doing quite a bit better today, at least.
My day felt completely scattered. I couldn't focus on a single thing. I'd start doing this, then immediately jump to that. ROV was making me frustrated earlier — not because I was raging at the game, but because my phone got so hot that it started lagging and the skills wouldn't fire properly. Today my temper was just so short with everything. (laughs) I tried not to let it get to me, but the focus just wasn't there.
I went to visit my dad in the evening to bring him some things — fruit, food, and the nasal spray he asked for to help with the congestion. I stopped by to see grandma too, which was good.

For dinner, mom didn't have time to cook that braised pork belly stew I asked for yesterday since everything was so hectic. My regular holy basil place was closed, so I picked up dry suki from a new spot my brother said was good. Just as I suspected, my brother thinks literally everything tastes good. (laughs) It was pretty bland and ordinary.
After eating, I sat down to review my today's Anki. Over a hundred and seventy words today, which was way too much. Because my focus was completely shot, I kept blanking on the exact same kanji over and over. I'd flip the card, see what it was, move on to a few other words, and the second it circled back, I'd completely forget again. After four or five words did that to me, I got so annoyed that I just gave up with sixty words left and asked Pon to hop on a game instead. My short-term memory was basically nonexistent tonight.
I think I'm going to put a cold compress on my hands. They feel genuinely heavy from all the strain today. Hopefully my dad gets better and can come home from the hospital tomorrow once the infection clears up. Time to head to bed.
