I forgot to record last night. I was in the middle of talking to someone and it completely slipped my mind. I needed to wake up early, but I still didn't get to sleep until after one in the morning (laughs). And I barely slept — it felt like I was in REM the whole night, half-awake the entire time.
Today was full, but I am so wiped out. I have zero energy left. I don't even want to talk; I just want to sit still and listen. It's raining right now, too. So I'll keep this short.
We went to Koh Lanta today. My brother and I picked up Sky from his house. There were so many hilarious moments along the way, but if I tried to tell them all, it would take forever. I'm just running on empty.
We got to the ferry around nine or ten in the morning. The ferry took forever, both going there and coming back. We went to check out our land up on the mountain and fly the drone. The three of us hiked up holding fallen branches as walking sticks, poking the dirt like old men (laughs). We flew the drone and took photos by the cliff edge. On the way down, a snake slithered right across our path.
We stopped for lunch at a spot along the way that I'd been wanting to try forever, but it was always closed whenever I went by. Today my brother pulled in and it was actually open. We ordered simple single dishes: chicken fried rice for me and Skye, an omelet, and a tom yum goong, while my brother got the seafood curry paste. The portions were generous for the price, but the tom yum goong was a letdown — not sour at all, completely flat. My brother went a couple of days ago and said it was great, so maybe it was just an off day.
After lunch, we checked out an abandoned house up on the hill. People said it used to belong to a foreigner. It was completely deserted, so Skye and I went to explore. It was a huge, two-story house with very dated styling. The back door was unlocked, so we stepped inside. There was no real furniture left, but the view from the second floor was gorgeous — looking straight out over the ocean.
Sky guessed the owner might have been German because there was a box left behind with German branding on it.
We headed back around three-thirty. We waited nearly two hours at the pier just to board the ferry back to the mainland (laughs). Before the drive home, we pulled into a gas station so Skye and I could use the bathroom. Skye dropped his bag, and when he bent down to grab it, his phone slipped out and smacked face-down on the ground. The glass underneath the screen protector cracked completely through.
We dropped Sky off and I came home. Since we ate so much on the road, I decided to hit the gym around six. Friday evening at Central was an absolute mob — felt like a million people (sighs). I did intervals instead of an incline walk to burn through calories faster, just running and stopping. It was brutal (laughs). My quads were dead and my lower back started acting up strangely. Biologically I'm twenty-four, but my body felt forty. I forced myself through fifty minutes and headed straight home.
I didn't eat dinner since we'd had so much food earlier, though now I'm starting to get hungry again since our last meal was around one or two in the afternoon. I'm not going to eat anything this late, though.
It was a really good day, all things considered. On the way back, we talked about taking a trip to Koh Lipe in Satun sometime. It'd be great to get a bunch of friends together, but everyone's work schedules never line up. For tonight, I'm just going to put on some music or a podcast and wind down.
