Hey there. I almost forgot to record this, good thing it's not midnight yet. I just finished reviewing Hiragana and Katakana. Yesterday I focused mainly on verbs, so today I'm coming back to these, taking breaks and then reviewing again to make them stick better.
I woke up really early today, around six. I had to go out of town to Phang Nga to fly a drone and take photos. It was the three of us again: me, my brother, and P'Poom. We left early, picked up P'Poom around seven or eight, and then headed out.
At first, we checked the weather, and it said no rain. But after driving for over two hours, almost reaching our spot, it started pouring the whole way. (laughs) It was just torrential rain.
We were hesitant, wondering what to do. Was it a wasted trip? Should we just turn back? It was still about forty minutes to our pinned location, and the rain was so heavy. But we figured, 'Oh well, let's just go and see. We're almost there, another thirty or forty minutes. Maybe it'll stop by then.'
As we kept driving, holy cow, it wasn't raining at our spot! (laughs) The whole way there it had been absolutely pouring, like a flood.
We finished shooting, and as soon as the drone landed, the rain started right on cue. What are the chances?
By the time we drove back, it was already one or two in the afternoon. On the way back, we stopped for lunch at our usual spot, a restaurant we always go to when we're in that area.
We got back around two or three. I had plans with Phon to get haircuts today. Phon also had a job interview, so after all that, we ended up getting our hair cut around five.
I asked him about it. He applied for a marketing position, and I was curious what they asked. Man, they asked some really good questions, all marketing-related. They were clever. He said he'd done some homework, but what he studied didn't come up, and what came up, he hadn't studied. (laughs) So, he pretty much figured it was over. He knew it himself, because there were about five or six people interviewing for the same role.
He said you could tell from the interview length. If you answered clearly, they'd keep asking questions and talking. Some people only got five or ten minutes; he got ten. But some people were in there for half an hour, which probably means they answered well. And they're only hiring for one position.
Anyway, I finally got a haircut today. Haven't had one in two or three months. At first, I was going to let it grow really long, and I still am, I just trimmed the sides a bit. Phon said it looked like a helmet. (laughs) My hair is straight, so when it's all one length, it just forms a perfect helmet. No need for an actual helmet, the police won't stop me. I have my own built-in one, perfect.
After the haircut, my brother called to say there was no food at home, so we could just eat out.
So Phon and I went to our usual pad krapow place near home. We talked about all sorts of things, including how, in our group, it's just him and me who are still single. (laughs) It's always just us two, whether it was during school or now in our working lives. We might even be single at thirty! (laughs) That's how it feels. But for him, it's probably not that hard to find someone. For me, though, man, it feels so hard. (laughs)
Then I came home and it was a long evening, doing this and that, and then back to practicing Japanese. Today was mostly reviewing old stuff because I didn't get to learn anything new during the day, no new verbs or words. I'll probably go to sleep soon. I'm getting sleepy quickly because I didn't get much sleep. See you.
