I didn't record last night, though I probably should have. Thinking about yesterday, I didn't do much in the morning or early afternoon, just stayed home and watched the ROV competition.
My new book arrived yesterday, the one I took a picture of and uploaded. It's called How to Know a Person: The Art of Deep Understanding. I find the concept really interesting—it's about getting to know someone from many angles, not just their personality or likes and dislikes, but also their family, culture, values, and even childhood wounds. All of that makes up who a person truly is. Superficial questions don't cut it; you have to dig into how they grew up, what they think, and their attitudes toward different things. (laughs) It sounds interesting, but I have no idea how many months it'll take me to finish it.
I also went for a run yesterday, but I changed the scenery. Instead of the gym, I ran outdoors on a new road behind our alley. It's almost finished, but not officially open yet. I ran for 40 minutes and was exhausted. (laughs) I saw some older people walking too.

I had to stop at one point because there's a worker's camp there with a lot of dogs. I've been chased by those dogs before. (laughs) I was hesitant to run the whole way, so I ran to the camp and then turned back. Later, I saw an older person walking and asked if it was safe to go all the way, if the dogs would chase me. (laughs) He said it was fine, so I tried it. I ran past, then stopped and walked, then ran again after I was past the camp. (laughs) On later laps, I just ran through. It still felt a bit scary, so I probably won't go there often. It looked like it was going to rain, but it only drizzled a little. (sighs) It was a good session, but my quads were sore from my weight training, still healing at a micro level.
In the evening, I watched the ROV competition until about 9 or 10 PM. My friend Pon works the afternoon shift and finishes at 9 PM. I'd messaged him earlier, and he said he'd be free around 10. So, he messaged me, and we started playing. Then we called Non, and he joined too. (laughs)
Non told us he's nearsighted now. (laughs) He said he cried, he was so sad. I remember feeling the same way when I was 13, in seventh grade. They did eye exams at school, and I started to wonder why I couldn't see the test chart. Turns out, I was nearsighted. I cried all day, couldn't focus in class, because it felt like a point of no return. Once you're nearsighted, it just gets worse, right? There's no going back to normal. (laughs) Even though I've had LASIK now, I totally understand Non. (laughs) He said he was sad, but it's not too bad yet, only 50/50, and he has astigmatism. I told him he really needs to take care of his eyes, or it'll keep getting worse and cause problems, especially with night driving.
He thinks it's from work, but also from playing games and using his computer in the dark, without enough light. He stares at a screen for eight hours at the office, then comes home and plays computer games in the dark again. It's a bad cycle. After talking for a bit, we played ROV. It was fun. A junior friend, Zei, joined us. We hadn't seen each other in a while, so it was good to catch up and play together. After playing for a while, almost midnight, I saw Touch online in the game. I invited him to join Discord, since I hadn't talked to him in ages. We played for a bit longer, and it was a good time. It was another good day.
Oh, I forgot to mention Anki! I didn't do it yesterday. I did about half of it in the morning and then (laughs) I gave up. (laughs) Damn it.
I'm not sure if I'll go to the gym today or take a rest day. I think I'll do some cardio, maybe a cycling session, and then rest tomorrow. Okay, that's about it. See you. Have a good day.
