Oh, I can't believe it. (laughs) I just spoke for over nine minutes, and then realized my Mac had been reformatted today, and I forgot to set the default microphone. The MacBook was folded shut and sitting next to the table, not using the external mic that's right here. So, no sound went in. Damn it! I said so much. (laughs)
To be brief, I had a bit of trouble sleeping around 5 AM. My left shoulder muscle kept twitching. I looked it up, and it can be caused by many things, like stress, which probably isn't it, or drinking coffee and not enough water, which is the most likely. I haven't been drinking enough water lately, so I kept waking up and falling back asleep from 5 AM until after 9 AM.
When I finally got up, Mom told me Namcha, the dog, went out to play in front of the house and bit a toad or a frog. It sprayed goo all over her mouth, and it was really sticky and gooey. Mom and my brother took her to the vet. They had to wash it out for a while because it was so sticky. Good thing it didn't get in her eyes, or she could have gone blind. And good thing she wasn't allergic, or it could have been fatal. They even had to shave some fur around her neck. But it's good she's okay and didn't die. (sighs)
My first meal wasn't much: grilled pork neck and grilled fish, leftovers from yesterday. I just microwaved it.
Today, my MacBook started acting strange. I was wondering if I should send it in for a claim because sometimes it would make a 'tweeet' sound and then log out — not shut down, but like the kernel was running some script. I should explain that I once accidentally got malware. I was trying to install a ChatGPT codec and just copied and pasted, ending up installing some crazy program via a Terminal script. I had Claude help clear it before, but it seems like it missed something.
I just found out today. My Mac has been acting weird ever since that first incident. So I subscribed to Claude again today and asked it to check. It found malware still on the machine, plus a backdoor program that would wait for commands from the hacker. The initial malware was the type that intercepts crypto passwords and such, which I don't have, but it was still there. After it sent the second one, it commanded it to intercept text from my clipboard. Whenever I copied text, its script would capture everything and send it back. That's messed up.
It wasn't a huge deal because lately I haven't really used it for anything important, just YouTube and cartoons. So I had Claude help, and the conclusion was to just wipe the machine. At first, I was worried because I have a fair amount of dev tools installed. Even if I don't use them much anymore, I didn't want to reinstall them all. But Claude helped with everything. It backed up my program list, wrote a script, and created a Handoff Markdown file for quick reinstallation. So I just wiped the machine. I saved all those files in iCloud.
When I restarted, I installed Claude first, had it read the files and the Handoff Markdown, and it took over, installing everything else. It's almost all set up now.
Aunt Puang came today. Mom and my aunt went to pick her up. She's only staying one night, leaving tomorrow, so fast. In the evening, my brother and I ran an errand, finalizing a client contract and deposit.
We made seafood for dinner because Aunt Puang bought mantis shrimp and blue crab. We also added more grilled fish and some shrimp in fish sauce. So we had steamed mantis shrimp, steamed blue crab, grilled fish, shrimp in fish sauce, and various dipping sauces. It was delicious. I don't usually focus on seafood because it's a pain to peel and eat, so I sat next to Aunt Puang, and she peeled it for me. (laughs) Easy.

I didn't go to the gym today because I got back with my brother at 5 PM, and then we started preparing dinner. Damn, I'm getting a potbelly now. I feel like I'm starting to get one. My daily activity is too low. An hour or two at the gym doesn't really help that much. I sit a lot, and I eat a lot of whatever I crave. The fridge is full of snacks.
After eating, I just sat down and continued setting up the Mac, installing programs and checking things. It's mostly okay now. Not 100%, but it's very good. I hope the malware is gone. Since I reformatted, all the Apple signing codes changed, so it should be gone. I'll just have to use it and see. Oh man, I had to say all that twice, for crying out loud! (laughs) I probably won't record anything else before bed. Hope it's a good night. See you tomorrow.
