It's almost 1 AM again. I just finished playing ROV with friends. (laughs) It was great. We've been able to play together again lately. Before, we weren't free at the same time, and sometimes when friends invited me, I just wasn't in the mood to play. But now I'm playing again, even with a cold compress on my arm! (laughs) Today we played in the evening, and then again just now at 10 PM. Tomorrow, my junior has the day off, so maybe we'll play in the afternoon.
What did I do today? (laughs) I didn't do anything, really. It's a holiday, so I didn't go to the gym. I didn't go anywhere, didn't even leave the house or see sunlight. I just did this and that.
I did Anki from morning until evening. I cleared a lot in the morning; now I have hundreds of words to review in a day. It's so much! (laughs) I don't want to think about how much time it'll take later. I feel like it doesn't stick as well as my own separate system.
It tends to make me rely on the example sentences, which isn't how I want to memorize. I've been trying to change that. I can't remember the kanji itself because I tend to... I mean, if I see it in the same sentence, I remember it. But when that same kanji appears in a different sentence, I just blank. Like, "What was that one again?" It looks familiar, but I can't recall it.
In my own system, I only see the kanji and then I have to think, "What's the reading? What does it mean?" And that's how I remember it. I can recognize it no matter what sentence it's in. So tomorrow I'm going back to my old method: I won't rely on sentences. I'll focus on remembering the kanji itself and recalling its meaning before its reading.
That's about it, since I didn't do anything today besides play games. (sighs) Time to sleep now.
